PermaRoof Commercial Celebrates Success Following First Year in Business

TWELVE months since its inception in December 2020, PermaRoof Commercial, part of PermaGroup, is celebrating a highly successful first year after exceeding targets and securing an incredibly high number of projects across the country.

The team of flat roofing specialists has completed 35 large scale tenders across the country within its first year, with a further 37 contracts currently in progress. It has secured several partnerships, strengthening its nation-wide offering, including a recent extension to its relationship with building merchant Huws Gray, and a newly formed partnership with Chandlers Roofing Supplies.

Sunny Lotay, national commercial manager at PermaRoof Commercial, said: “We are delighted to have had such a successful inaugural year as a division. Launching in the midst of a pandemic was, undeniably, a risk and we’ve had to navigate the challenges facing the industry, such as the materials shortage, at the same time. But, in the face of this adversity, I’m incredibly proud of the team and its ability to adapt to each situation, resulting in such a strong first year where we’ve experienced fantastic growth.”

Committed to helping tackle the industry skills gap, PermaRoof Commercial introduced its specialist contractor flat roofing training courses in RubberTop Premium EPDM, RubberGard EPDM, and PermaRoof 500 liquid waterproofing, which can be undertaken at the dedicated training facility in Alfreton. Contractors can attend or refer their employees to attend the courses to upskill and refresh on essential aspects of executing commercial contracts including full technical, design and specification support.
Sunny added: “We’re pleased to have seen such excellent uptake on our courses, which provide an efficient and effective way to upskill a workforce, ensuring they’re site ready, and have also introduced bespoke PermaRoof Registered Installer (PRI) cards as well.

“This scheme was brought to fruition to highlight the competency of our installers. It’s essential that projects are carried out by qualified contractors and our new three-level system, ensures that PermaGroup and the client can guarantee a quality output on every project.”

The PermaRoof Commercial department has undertaken a wide variety of projects this year, both big and small, including installing RubberGard EPDM at Clifford Tower in York, Imperial College London and MACC Business Park in Scotland, to name a few.

Sunny added: “Looking forward to 2022, we’ve got some exciting tenders in the pipeline already combined with the completions of some projects that have been in the works for a while. We are also expanding our team to meet the demand we’re seeing across the entire PermaGroup brand.”
